Now a days the internet and TV have created a lot of "Do it yourself guides." The problem is it takes a lot of time and material to do it right. Its not a matter of how smart someone is, its a matter of experience and getting familiar with film. The slightest error and the film will be ruined. For example, once the adhesive side touches anything the film is ruined. Or if you shrink to fast or to slow the film is ruined. If you don't pay attention to how the window rolls up and down , or squeegee the wrong way the film is ruined. How about taking a blade to your glass and leaving huge cuts in the glass. So on and so on, there are many reasons to have your windows professionally tinted.
Even if you do a great job, in the long run you may run into huge problems that are not warrantied. If your doing the installation yourself, there's a great chance the film is not a high quality material. All of the big film manufactures carry lifetime warranty's, this means they cant afford to make bad film. To purchase these top of the line films you must be a professional installer. They don't want people improperly installing their product and having to deal with warranty issues (that wouldn't be very smart business). Now lets say you install the film and did a good job (according to your standards). But 1 yr down the road the film starts to bubble. That leads to a whole mess of issues. First of all it will be hard to see out of the film causing unsafe driving. If you wanted the film removed that takes more time than it does to install. So that can cost you almost as much as it does to install. Not to mention if you did it yourself it can be a huge mess. Then there's the big back window with your rear defroster. A lot of the time when you remove junk film it takes your rear defrost with it. And finally it will turn into that horrible purple looking film.
Installing the film yourself can save you money but the quality will be sacrificed, along with the appearance, UV protection and heat reduction. Remember a bad tint job can make a $20,000 car look like a $10,000! Don't make your car an eye sore on the road, call and get it professionally done and never have to worry about it again!
